SITES AND COMPANIES TO AVOID!
Netlog.com (formerly know as Facebox.com): These guys are the scum of the earth. If you receive ANY emails from this site DO NOT OPEN THEM! If you do all of your email addresses will be stolen. They harvest all of them from your address book and start sending every one of your contacts emails that appear to be coming from you! When your friends open "your" email they will then steal all of their email addresses and the same cycle will repeat again and again. Their IP address is: 193.164.158.86 and emails will come from this address netlogmail.com. Block them if you can, you'll be glad you did, and all of your friends will thank you!
Safeguarding your information on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.
NEVER provide any of your REAL information, use a made up name or handle. Your friends already know your real name, so there is no need to post it, all they need to know is your handle or alias to link up with you. Nobody else needs your personal information. The people that run these sites certainly don’t need it for any reason, so why give it to them?
Remember these sites make their money by targeting YOU and millions of other members as well as your friends and relatives with advertisings and selling the demographic data they collect from you to tons of advertisers to tailor their advertising towards you. Providing bogus information will make your data useless to them and keep you from being bombarded by tons of unsolicited advertising, while at the same time making sure you do not become a victim of identity theft.
The same applies to your Gender, Age, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, and Country or city you live in, etc. In short, if you provide ANY personal information MAKE IT ALL UP! DO NOT use your real information, under any circumstances for any reason!
Make up a new unique email address for each site and forward the mail to your permanent email. NEVER reply to any emails from your permanent address, only from the one that is specific to each site. That way your permanent address is NEVER out there. If you are being spammed you can delete the problem address and make a new one. This way your permanent address cannot be spammed, since no one knows what it is.
NEVER upload any images of yourself. The only exception is images of large groups of people (at least 10 or more). If you upload group images NEVER identify yourself or anyone else in the images. NEVER state where or when it was taken. Do NOT post any images with copyright information or a photographers name on them. CAREFULLY examine the foreground, background and what you or anyone else is wearing in the image and do NOT post any images where the information in the image can be used to identify the location where it was taken.
Follow these simple rules and you can have fun safely sharing with all your friends and relatives, and you will not have to be concerned that anyone will steal your identity or be bombarded by tons of advertising.
www.cibc.ca - The Canadain Imperial Bank of Commerce is one of the worse banks in Canada. Their customer service department is rude, combative and unprofessional. They have no regard for the laws of Canada and habitually violate customers rights under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, have no respect for your rights under the Privacy Act and willfully and purposefully violate the Bank Act. If you bring these violations to their attention they will respond with something like "Too fucking bad if you don't like the way we do business, go somewhere else if you don't like it!" Their ethics are so deep down in the toilet, they need a 200 foot ladder to stand on, just to reach the bottom of the toilet these guys operate in!
If you use custom checks and they don't like them (because you didn't buy them from them, or they just don't like the advertising you put on them to advertise your business, (which by the way are perfectly acceptable according to the Supreme Court of Ontario), you will get a nasty call or a form letter from asshole of the year award winner Clarence Layne tellying you how pissed of they are that you would have the balls to put advertising on your checks (which by the way is not prohibited under the Bank Act) and if you don't stop using them they will close all your accounts and take your money! I'm sure they know the year ends in 10, unfortunately they're antiquated policies, outdated methods, and rediculous mindsets are more appropriate to the year 1910!
If you are in the market for a new bank or looking to buy stock in a reputable bank, or invest money in a reputable bank in Canada, do yourself a HUGE favour and STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE FUCKING ASSHOLES AS YOU CAN!
If you are a small legitimate business person in the adult entertaiment industry they will tell you they don't approve of your business and close your account! Yet two of the biggest television porn providers, BELL CANADA and ROGERS CABLE are their biggest customers, yet they don't close their accounts!
So much for their ethics!
www.ask.com (aka askjeeves.com) - This site is well known for
downloading all kinds of url hijacking Trojans and malicious software onto your
computer that is very difficult to remove. Google “ask.com url hijackers” and you’ll
find all the info on the kind of crap these scumbags like to download onto your system,
without your permission. You would be well advised to stay clear of this site.
www.myspace.com - This site accepts, allows, condones and supports the unauthorized use of copyrighted images on their web site. If you notify them one of their members has illegally posted copyrighted material onto their site they refuse to do anything about it.
Instead of removing the unathorized images and deleting the offenders profile they email you a bullshit reply that accurately displays they're "thats too fucking bad for you" attitude. Their response will be something along these lines. "As long as our members do not violate our terms of use, they can post any copyright infringed images they want, and we won't do a damn thing about it!" That tells you all you need to know about their ethics, and is only one of the many reasons why they should be avoided.
Please do your part by passing this information on to all your contacts, so we can put a stop to this kind of irresponsible behaviour and get rid of these kinds of sites and companies and the people that condone, own, and operate them.
